Restored at a cost of over £100k in 2011

Once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a rare, unique, original sports car with recent full mechanical restoration by Tim Walker Restoration, completed in 2011 at a cost in excess of £100,000. The body was taken off and all mechanical elements were restored or replaced, including fitting a Rover V8 engine in place of the original Ford V6. The interior was stripped and replaced with stunning leather in a red and black combination (costs for this 6000 Euros).
Even the Webasto sunroof was replaced with a new one, by the same man who fitted the original one when the car was built forty years previously.
The 3.5 litre V8 sounds amazing. Car runs and drives well.

The Trident was intended to be a new TVR model when it was launched during the 1965 Geneva Motor show. The first four cars made in Italy were badged as TVRs. However, due to financial problems at TVR, the project looked to be prematurely aborted, until a TVR dealer, Bill Last, stepped in and started to produce the vehicle under the name Trident.

Trident Cars Ltd were a British car manufacturer based originally in Woodbridge, then in Ipswich, Suffolk between 1966 and 1974, and again after being restarted in 1976 from premises in Ipswich. The new company stopped production in 1977 – 78.
The Venturer was the second car Trident produced in 1969, Only 84 Venturers were made, making this car extremely rare, and having had a full mechanical restoration this is a unique opportunity to buy a very rare car in excellent condition.

The body was designed by Trevor Fiore (who was later director of design for Citroen) and the prototype built by Fiore in Italy. Production in the UK started in 1966. In 1969 a new model was presented, which showed some cosmetic updates, but the main change was now the use of the Triumph TR6 chassis. The Venturer, as the new model became known was fitted with a 3 litre Ford Essex V6: this car has been retrofitted with the 3.5 litre Rover V8 and associated gearbox, which weighs about the same as the Ford V6 and thus has not affected the handling.

Full photo library of the restoration and all invoices available for inspection. The car has been started and moved regularly while in store.
